St. Teresa of Calcutta Senior Ministry is a program within Catholic Social Services which serves elder clients age 60+, including persons who face challenges with activities of daily living. These individuals may reside in a private residence, nursing homes, senior living facilities, or within mental health setting. All of the services we provide are FREE to our clients.
Our mission is to improve the quality of client lives by frequent direct non-medical interaction and advocacy efforts addressing physical and mental health needs. These efforts include ongoing emotional and spiritual support, obtaining sanitary, safe, and secure living conditions, and strengthening/maintaining family and community ties through assisting in receiving available resources for basic living necessities.
We assist clients who wish to live in their own homes as long as possible by providing non-medical supportive care and services. Each individual’s needs will be assessed during an intake process where the level of care will be determined.
We encourage all clients to continue and expand their ties within the community. Those clients who have existing relationships within a religious community or who wish to establish a relationship with a particular faith group are assisted to do so.
Our goal with this program is not to take the place of our client’s family. Instead, our goal is to provide even more support to our client and their family while assisting the client enhance their ties with the community.
